March 2013 Chapter Event
Topic: LED Technology Presented by LSI Industries
When: March 1, 2pm – 4:30pm
Where: 1000 Alliance Road Cincinnati, OH 45242
Presentation #1: Specifying Long-Life LED Fixtures with Short Paybacks
• 1 – 1 ½ hour IES registered CEU presentation
• Earns 1 ½ CEU credits
• Learning Objectives:
• Understand role of LED standards, testing & industry organizations on reliability
• Understand LED characteristics that allow for lower light to be specified & lower lumen output used
• Discuss effects of different CRI & CCT values on energy consumption
• Identify key elements for long LED fixture life & short paybacks
Presentation #2: Understanding LED Performance Specifications
• 1 – 1 ½ hour IES registered CEU presentation
• Earns 1 ½ CEU credits
• Learning Objectives:
• Learn about typical performance requirements in current LED product specifications
• Understand concepts behind those requirements (e.g. absolute photometry, chromaticity, surge & ingress protection, lumen depreciation)
• Learn about industry organizations behind standards development, product testing & qualification (DOE, Design Lights Consortium, NVLAP photometry labs, NRTL test labs)
• Understand key elements involved in determining LED life expectations (LM-80, TM-21, In-situ temperature testing)
